Previewing Robert Morris' 2022 men's lacrosse schedule
The Robert Morris Colonials are the 36th team in our 2022 men’s college lacrosse schedule preview series and the fifth team from the newly rebooted ASUN. Robert Morris went 7-6 overall in 2021 as an independent after spending the last 11 years as a member of the NEC. Robert Morris has a new head coach in Craig McDonald, who came over from UMass in the offseason. Andrew McMinn left to take the head coaching job at Utah.
Robert Morris joins Air Force, Bellarmine, Cleveland State, Detroit Mercy, and Utah in the new ASUN conference. Their conference tournament will be held May 5-7 at Milton Frank Stadium in Huntsville, Alabama. The top four teams in the ASUN standings qualify for the postseason tournament.
Here's their entire 2022 spring schedule:

CIRCLE THESE DATES
2/19 at Stony Brook: This will be the first time these two teams face each other. An America East contender this year, the Seawolves went 8-6 last year and should be a good matchup for the Colonials.
3/19 vs. Marquette: The teams didn't play each other last year due to schedule restrictions for the Big East, but they did play in 2020. Robert Morris won by a goal in Andrew Stimmel's first season as head coach of the Golden Eagles thanks to a Brad McCulley goal with four seconds left. Now, it's McDonald's first season with the Colonials.
4/16 at Utah: Last year was the Jimmy Perkins Bowl. This year it's the Andrew McMinn Bowl. McMinn left Robert Morris in the offseason to become Utah's head coach and is hopeful to lead the Utes to new heights in their fourth year of existence as a varsity program.
4/23 vs. Air Force: Potentially a preview of the ASUN Championship? When the new conference was announced last year, Air Force and Robert Morris were already identified as early contenders to win the conference. Both teams won multiple conference championships in the last handful of seasons and appear to be on a slightly higher level than the other four programs.
